mijn verhaal

What did I make? And how i did it
Well origami of course, mainly 3d animals and a little bit of modular origami.
But I didn’t really like modular origami and continued with making animals.
Right now i’m making complex animals from youtube
I started with a book called ‘’Love origami’’ and i think as a beginner it’s good to start with a book to learn the basics and just use standard (kami) 15×15 after that book i started watching youtube and discovered Jo Nakashima and with that Channel i got from low intermediate to high intermediate and started using 20×20 paper. i discovered JMorigami and started folding complex origami with 35×35 kami then i experimented and bought some different kinds of paper kraft paper, Elephant hide, and tant and even made my first animal from 50×50 paper
Paper:
when you start origami you can just use standard origami (kami) or even print paper
When you get to complex i bought some different kinds of paper with the size of 35×35 like elephant hide, tant and kraft (i bought all my origami online the website depends a bit on where you live)
I also bought some big elephant hide paper to cut
Tip: if you can’t find the right size buy bigger paper and cut it
Book or Youtube?
As I said if you start origami a book/diagrams is good to learn the basics but you can also find diagrams online when folding complex origami i watch youtube because buying a book for every few animals is pretty expensive. I also prefer watching someone make it instead of watching diagrams.
Channels I use
What channel you use depends on what kind of origami you are making (animals, modular, tessellation etc.) i make animals and as an intermediate i mainly watched Jo Nakashima
When i got to complex i started watching JMorigami
I also really like the modules of ‘’Sipho Mabona’’.
tip:
When in the transition from making low intermediate to high intermediate or from high intermediate to complex i failed a couple of animals and my tip is to choose the right model or make a few more of your level to choose the right model you can read about it in the description and watch the comments. Also don’t expect every origami to go first try and don’t give up.
For instance when i got from high intermediate to complex i failed a couple of complex and then made a beautiful elephant that wasn’t too hard and really motivated me to make more
